Prosecution of torture: no Negotiable
We currently have a U.S. Constitution, the sociological dilemma exercising the practice of torture. " But, worst of this situation is something that goes beyond constitutional law or the debates that rage within U.S. society. This serious problem, even goes Beyond our diverse political framework. ... It is the existence of a "double standard" for law enforcement in a democracy. A democracy is, by definition, a form of governing is expressly dependent on fair and enforcement of laws to "all" those who live in democratic societies. In other words, all laws apply to all citizens equally, and no individual, regardless of any situation, is above the law, any law.
In Currently, none of the three branches of our Government, The Executive, the Legislative Branch or the Judicial Branch is willing to deal directly with current violations Federal, Military, International Law and international treaties by the United States when he decided to pursue a policy of torturing prisoners in custody. ... Torture is human being using "violent methods and procedures on other human beings to extract and obtain the desired information, confession, apology or gratuity personal.
It is clear that during the period of time from the 911 attacks there is enough "Public" shows that not only justify but also demand that measures be taken regarding the use of "torture." truth commissions information only and do not carry criminal culpability in the form of further measures. Because this is not only legal, but also a political problem with opinions on all aspects of the implementation of policies varied and very full of emotions, often boiling down to "partisanship", a special prosecutor "is the only practical direction to take to start a confrontation legitimate issue. Since it is the Government policy, responsibilities with respect to guilt could involve many members of the three branches Washington DC Government in any prosecutions could include many of the same people who, at this time would be involved in the investigation, was another path the designation of the Special Prosecutor, adopted. This is the problem that is delaying the decision on the matter. It is in fact not even leading discussions should be taking place. People throughout our government is stalling the process in the hope they can find a way around the criminal culpability. If they succeed, will, in fact, succeed in establishing a U.S. double standard law, national and international levels. We know that this double standard exists in the wealth base and is a debate more often avoided and is not spoken. Now there are too many facts are public knowledge and simply sweep "Torture" under the carpet!
The use of torture is a crime that has traditionally been attributed mainly to the "enemies" of our country. So far, the prosecution of this crime was rooted in the character of this country, and has defined our global moral! It is a point of character that has always defined the United States as a defender of "Human Rights" and indeed as a leader in the worldwide celebration of the most stringent in relation to the matter. When the U.S. entered World War II was a break with isolationist policies. In fact, do not enter the war until they were attacked at Pearl Harbor. Instead of field trials for battlefield executions, a large number of "prisoners of war were taken, and were treated as humanely as possible. As the war came to an end and after Japan's surrender and Germany, most prisoners of war were released, although some remained in custody, and more were taken as the trials of "crimes of war "began as a result the" Nuremberg Trials "! People convicted by the International this action were sentenced to lengthy whether periods of imprisonment or execution. The search for trials, and sentencing of criminals of the Second World War The war has continued and continues to this days. A war criminal was extradited to Germany from the U.S. this month! But now we find our country in the debate on the use of "La Tortura" at this very moment. How can this be?
Have we become largely de-sensitized to the "violence"? Is our "compass moral "has changed to a new address? are just so afraid that we can not see clearly any longer? Is there really a new form of criminal" terrorism " justifies the treatment rather than a human deserves? I think two of these questions give us an answer ...
First, 911 brought the concept of "terror" home to people from the continental United States so that in any practical sense, was the first time! This happened at a time when our ability to carry things directly into the homes of Americans is absolute. With multiple-channel televisions, and computers with Internet, in almost every home, we saw "Terrorism" in real time, to our great dismay and horror. Unfortunately, the same people, the Bush administration, which should have led us in a direction that was a reaction refer to the experience of the world, promoted a sense of fear, helplessness and revenge over a traumatized nation. Literally state shock, the American people did what came natural to them, historically. They followed their leaders wholeheartedly and without question. This has always been a decision safe, until September 11, 2001! The problem is that our leaders and had an agenda, and that they were cowards, perhaps more terrified that people in general were! And our media have failed us miserably. They did the same thing that is the primary focus. Failure to maintain an "objective" point of view, questions event and providing us with investigative journalism! Therefore, the decisions and actions based on "Fear", dominated the policy formation to face the greatest crisis ever faced by the United States of America. Leaders who were cowards led us as a country in a state of being immoral.
Second, we de-sensitive to violence, as a Society. World War II has become fodder for sensational, violent movies. Even Vietnam is 30 years behind us. Very few of our leaders are war veterans, and most old enough to be Vets, avoided military service, including Dick Cheney, then-Vice President. The movie industry uses violence to a creative product and has been graphically flooding us with him, without stopping, for decades. The most popular computer games that the user can become the author of brute violence, at home, without result, in a realistic environment. Television unrestricted feeding us "violence" solution with programs like "24" and "The Unit" on a daily basis. Not to mention the use widespread violence in all its programming. Violent crime has become the number one source for the "sensational news programming," and fed to us daily. Unfortunately, between all this, wars are censored in the coverage of the media and for decades, even saw the Warriors lost coffins of our returning to their home. Is it any wonder that as people we do not think a lot of violent treatment of prisoners of the "War Terror! "We debate whether water boarding is torture and whether torture is justified, giving new and cleaner names like" Enhanced Interrogation ".
A talk-show analyst, who had defended all this, has changed its tune. You see, on May 22, Eric "Madcow" Muller was allowed to be subjected a "Cadillac" version of "waterboarding" on video! It lasted six (6) seconds. Regaining his senses and return to have the ability to form words and after just 6 seconds, said: "... I do not mean this ... I'm not saying this, but ... Of course ... that is torture is torture ...." You can see video proof ...

Somehow, as a whole, as a nation, we must to address this "moral dilemma" and take a course to admit and correct this abhorrent policy that infected our thinking and decision-making processes. Otherwise, is bound to happen again. International law as applied to treaties we have signed, allows other countries, who signed for it, if we do not. It is our responsibility however! Nothing short of a thorough investigation, applying criminal charges and prosecution for these "crimes" will always be what we are really are and have been as a nation, for hundreds of years.
