Enhanced Graphics Adapter, Video Graphics Array Super Video Graphics Array basically refers to the resolution of the screen. Early versions: EGA = 640x350 (1984) - 4 bit = 16 colors VGA 640x480 (1987) - 4 = 16 bit color SVGA 800x600 (1989), then expanded to 1024x768 and 8bit = 256 colors 1024x768 XGA (1990) - 8 bit 256 colors XGA 1152x864 SXGA + = = 1280 × 1024 or 1280 × 960 SXGA + 1400x1050 UXGA = 1600x1200 - WUXGA 1920x1200 QXGA = 2048 × 1536 - WQXGA 2560 × 1600
