Get a Nikon D80 this week ... Requirements for beginners?
I thought, researched and plan to buy a Nikon D80 this week and would appreciate suggestions of "real people" on the important things have to first SLR camera / digital camera that cost-more-than-owner $ 300 (Please ignore the suggestions as obvious as one case, the screen saver, etc). I am so excited and can not wait!
I would suggest that you get a Nikon flash, SB800, SB600 or sb900 to take with you when you want to take pictures of people and you need a fill flash. While the D80 has a built-in flash has a small number of guide and work only if you ar close to the subject and since the flash is close to the lens, his subjects are susceptible to red eye (I do not like to use reducing red-eye in camera). I recommend getting Nikon lenses (the real reason you buy Nikon's because his glasses) as the 55-200mm VR for use for portraits and telephoto work. Get a huge memory card, like 4 GB or more so you can take pictures of the highest Jpeg or Raw mode. Then Sotware need a program that can capture and edit RAW images from Nikon, and Nikon Capture to handle the raw images from Nikon. Have fun with your camera.
