Can I connect my 19 "LCD PC monitor to my cable box from Time Warner with a VGA to S-Video Converter / Adapter / thing?
Do not even know if it is real or exists, however, is there a cord or cable or connector or adapter or converter or something that allows me to use my Time Warner cable box, which merely sit on the floor of my room, no TV to connect to? I sadly excess monitors - two impressive LCD PC monitors, and usable only on a computer, so one is collecting dust, unused. If there is a way to do this, I'm all ears! Thank you very much, I need / miss television.
I think your monitor LCD has a DVI or port and think that your cable box has an HDMI port on the back of it. Go to Best Buy and Radio Shack and buy a DVI cable that has male and at the other end HDMI male. Connect the DVI end of the monitor and connect the HDMI cable to the box. There is no S-video adapter for VGA. You probably will not get the audio, so you may want to get a pair of speakers or use your computer. I think there's a phone jack on your cable box, where you connect your speakers. If no one there. When you're at Radio Shack, you should ask the salesperson about making your head known as Jack to a phone jack for your audio cable box. If that does not work only go by television adapters and converters are too exspenive. If you do not think there are some links to the converters that I think will help and links television where they are cheaper than the converter.
