Do you use a DVI to VGA adapter to use an old monitor decrease in quality of graphics in games?
I'm afraid I'm not putting all my graphics potential of my new video card because my old video card (ATI Radeon X600) had a very bad frame rates but the graphics looks beautiful and welcoming. Now with my new video card, I'm getting amazing frame rates per second, but the graphics are dull and heavy. Is this because I'm using an adapter to convert DVI to VGA? To curb some of the graphics quality?
This could be ... but the likelihood is that it is running different video mode that you have not used before, the monitor does not handle well. Check your refresh rate, and try a different DVI-VGA adapter, which one only can be bad. In most current LCD flat panel which support both, almost no visible difference between using DVI and VGA. But anytime you're going through a converter $ 5, the quality could get demoted. What is your new video card, btw?
