I am in need of an expert in the dishwasher!?
I have a small problem with my dishwasher ... does not work! I can not pay any call charges ... So I thought I would ask here:) Model: Whirlpool ADP 4501 / 5 is about 3 years now ... Basically, the problem will not drain stagnent water in the background and simply do not start when I close the door. The 'light' Home 'is on and it ignites not as many similar problems they have seen on the DIY forums / sites ... I checked for twists and knots in the tubes ... the door latch does not seem broken ... I'm just not sure what is wrong with him. Cany anyone solve this mystery for me? Is it as simple as taking a side panel off and pressing a button .. or I have to call an expert? Thanks!
Dappy can be right, but .... While you're at it, see if you can clean the trap in the bottom of the washer .. a bit like a pea trap any drain. Also see if the electric motor that causes the rotor spins freely (with food). Sometimes, the engine just gets caught in a position where no moves and needs a little boost to start. I guess this is more common in older systems and more dirty. I think maybe there is a starting capacitor that helps with this problem, but maybe someone can say something about it.
