Can I use an HDMI to DVI adapter to connect my PS3 to my LCD monitor?

So it would ib able connect to the back of my monitor just connect the HDMI cable from the adapter to the ps3?
HDMI uses a video signal like DVI. Let'me try to explain it this way. DVI was designed for video applications only, HDMI multimedia. That DVI can handle up to two monitors into one port but not Audio and HDMI is compatible with a single bond adjacent to monitor audio media. So if you are able to get the audio from any other port on the console (PS3) the adapter to work with a monitor that has a DVI port. However, the monitor (and the DVI connection) will not handle the audio. Therefore, if you use this adapter and not is another way to connect the speakers to the console, you can see it, but did not hear. But yes, the video should work.
