Laptop and my desktop is also disconnected after 30 minutes or less?
I have this destOp eMachines and have a new laptop (for my son) I installed D-Link router on the desktop and use Linksys Wireless-G USB network adapter (on laptop). We are able to use it for almost 30 minutes and then we discconected, I check DSL modem (Speedstream 4100) of at & T and turn off the modem and wait and then connect again. The same for the last 2 weeks. Also on the laptop says I'm an insecure network and maybe you can see what I do. 3 names of nick see someone (do not know where or whom), but a little yellow padlock in the nick (secure network) How can I do in mine? (Have a safe and secure in the laptop?) I like to share, but not my onfo or every keystroke you make. Your help is appreciated. Have a nice 2007
Network Security: It has a d-link router that need to follow the instructions on configure WPA or somehow guaranteed. Instructions on how to do this can be found here: Give yourself plenty of time http://support.dlink.com/default.asp?orig=1 to make changes. If this is your first time creating a secure wifi, you can take an hour or two. Just take your time and try to relax. Would only need to do this configuration step once so be sure to do well. As for the disconnections ... unfortunately, we need a little more information about this. Are you losing connectivity with ADSL or router is disconnected? Troubleshooting this is really a separate issue. Please, try to determine the connection is failing and open a new question. Good luck!
