No sound for all who likes the challenge?
I have a SB Audigy 2 ZS Plat. sound card and an ASUS A8V Deluxe mobo. I had to flash my BIOS to get my new processor to work (went from 4000 + to Athlon X2 4800 +) and I reinstalled Windows at the same time, because it was running slow. now I have osund. I run both Windows XP and Vista RC1 on the hard drive separately and neither work. I have a Logitech USB headset, and when I connect I have the sound of the headphones. I also have a USB media center for my laptop but when I log in I get why sopund desktop. I have contacted Creative, and they went through the material standard. then I did check the IRQ in Device Manager. shown in Device Manager, but it will not let me install the drivers, says no card is installed. if chance PCI me that dissappered of dev. man. plese help.
I'm assuming that your sound card working properly before changing the CPU and flashing the BIOS, it sounds like your SB card can work in a limited capacity as getting sound with headphones and portable MM center. My first answer to this would be to update the driver for your card SB. Since you are having problems with the card in the device mngr, I suggest going through Control NLP, select Add / Remove Hardware and remove the SB card completely. Then re-boot the computer, then try installing again, make sure your new BIOS is configured to accept PnP devices. I would like to prepare to install the driver by going to Creative's website and download the latest drivers for your card SB; them in a folder or on a disk or thumb drive. When installing the card and asks for the drivers, direct it at that location. Another thing you may want to look at is if your MoBo is on skills sound on the motherboard, make sure it is disabled in Device mngr. when you reinstall the SB card as you could have problems of conflict between the two. I a good feeling these steps should correct malfunction. Good luck!
