There were a number of issues with Zone Alarm and Windows Vista upgrade. I had to uninstall and reinstall Zone Alarm Security Suite after making a series of updates for Vista, including Service Pack 1. Without the uninstall and reinstall, I could not even get an Internet connection at all, much less with a VPN client. try that first. Next, view the permissions for the Cisco VPN client within the zone alarm. The area of alarm can be set to block it. If so, change the settings to allow Cisco VPN to work. directly answer your question, the firewall in Windows Vista with the Cisco VPN is probably sufficient. But, like you, I would have preferred Zone Alarm running in place. Try the two previous corrections and can probably get what you want.
