My thoughts on the yet to be released Asus Eee PC Keyboard
We first start with its specifications, is a complete integrated QWERTY keyboard, and ultra wideband HDMI and WiFi b / g / n, also has a 5-inch touch screen for shortcuts, means of navigation and use as a virtual mouse.
Hardware wise the EEA PC Keyboard cosists a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB memory and 16GB or 32GB SSD storage either, I read that their could be a model less free, not sure about the differences between the models so far, guess we have to wait until Asus actually launch its Eee PC desktop before we know for sure.
From what I've seen and read, using the built-in 5 "touch screen, you have access to a menu where you can schedule access, photo galleries, media player and Internet browser, there are also simple applications such as using a calculator, alarm clock and system information.
In the back of all-in-one PC-in-a-keyboard "are at least two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, VGA, wired Ethernet and audio input / output (Besides having a microphone and speakers.)
Now I am quite impressed with what I read and what I've seen so far, however there is one thing that is my brain going 100 miles an hour, I'm not sure if ASUS has decided to adopt a specific operating system you plan to release the PC keyboard, however there videos and demos you can find on youtube that are running Windows XP, and another sample of the Asus Eee PC Keyboard Moblin OS running on Intel Netbook, this is the configuration would prefer, I can not really complain much about Windows XP, but this device really should use the modified version for their own good or Linux down version of Linux, which in my opinion, would be a sensible option.
However I do not work for ASUS, nor do I have something to say which system OS to be installed on your PC Keyboard EEA, so we have to wait until it release the Asus Eee PC Keyboard or atleast release of another statement on the release the product.
I've been a bit frustrated with the comments I've seen people all over the EEE PC keyboard, the main one I have tender is people saying things like "Commodore International did in the eighties, PC Keyboards inside are not new, ASUS has just found a way to" reinvent " the idea .. What's next? ASUS are going to "reinvent" the floppy disk? .
I understand that such comments are coming from, Yes Commodore International announced a new team in 1982, which was built on the keyboard and was quite successful (I think that more than 30 million sales), but can not compare Asus Eee PC with Keyboard, in any manner or form, sorry, but you just can not compare a 1.8 kg box was horrible Believe exceeding 40 cm 20 cm long and 8 cm high (not to mention the 1 MHz processor and 64 KB of RAM) for a pleasant and elegant looking keyboard is not too "out there" or "huge" and comes with a 1.6GHz Atom processor, 1GB of Ram and all other features.
Because I can not wait to get my hands on one of these babies, surely come hand in hand in the home and office, maybe even looking to roll this to my staff and they always seem to be out of desk space due to the PC Large screen are currently using.
